We built nnng.com because we kept running into the same problem: every time we needed to run a quick number — a mortgage payment, a calorie target, a concrete estimate — we'd end up on some ad-choked site with a half-broken tool and zero explanation of the math behind it. So we started building our own. 500+ free, browser-based calculators later, this is what we wish had existed years ago. Every tool runs entirely in your browser (nothing hits a server), there's no account to create, and there never will be a paywall. From mortgage and retirement planners to BMI and calorie tools, physics formulas to concrete estimatorsone bookmark instead of twenty scattered apps. And we pair every calculator with plain-language guides and a transparent methodology page, because a number without context is just a number.

Three steps. Zero friction.

We designed every calculator to follow the same dead-simple pattern. No accounts, no app downloads, no waiting for a server.

01
Pick a Calculator
Browse 500+ calculators across 9 categories — or just type what you need in the search bar. I've organized everything by topic (finance, health, math, science, construction, and more) so you're never more than a few seconds from the right tool.
02
Enter Your Numbers
Every tool loads instantly with clear labels, smart defaults, and unit toggles where they make sense. Your data never leaves your device — I don't store inputs, I don't track what you calculate, and there's no server processing involved.
03
Get Results & Learn
Results show up immediately with visual breakdowns, charts, and explanations in plain English. Copy them, download a PDF, share a link — then scroll down to read the educational content I write for every tool, because understanding the math matters as much as the answer.

Built for accuracy, designed for speed

I know there are other calculator sites out there. Here's why I think this one's worth your bookmark.

🔒
100% Private
Every calculation runs in your browser. I never see your income, your weight, your health data, or anything else you type in. No accounts, no tracking cookies on your inputs, no data leaving your device. Period. When you close the tab, it's gone.
📐
Transparent Formulas
I show the formula behind every calculator and link to the source — CDC guidelines, IRS tax tables, engineering reference handbooks, peer-reviewed research. If you want to see exactly how I validate each tool, the methodology page lays it all out.
📱
Works on Any Device
Phone, tablet, laptop, desktop — every tool is fully responsive. And because all the computation happens client-side, calculators load fast even on a spotty connection. No waiting for a server round-trip.
🎓
Educational, Not Just Functional
This is the part I care about most. Below every calculator you'll find explanations, FAQs, worked examples, and links to related tools. I don't just hand you a number — I want you to understand what it means and what to do with it.

What you can calculate

Nine categories covering the calculations that matter most — from your monthly budget to a construction project estimate.

Finance & Money
Mortgage payments, compound interest, retirement planning, debt payoff, tax brackets, investment returns — 90+ financial tools. This is the category we built first, and it's still the one we use most. If you're buying a home, paying down debt, or trying to figure out when you can actually retire, start here.

Health & Fitness
BMI, TDEE, calorie deficit, body fat, macro ratios, pregnancy trackers, and 50+ more. We source every formula from peer-reviewed research and clinical guidelines — Mifflin-St Jeor, Harris-Benedict, WHO standards — because health math is the one area where getting it wrong actually matters.

📐
Math & Statistics
Percentages, fractions, standard deviation, probability, quadratic equations, graphing — 40+ tools. Every calculator shows step-by-step solutions, which honestly makes them just as useful for learning the math as for getting a quick answer.

🧪
Science & Engineering
Ohm's law, kinetic energy, ideal gas law, pH, radioactive decay — 20+ tools covering physics, chemistry, and electronics. Proper SI unit handling and formula references from standard textbooks, because getting the units wrong in a science calc defeats the whole purpose.

🏗️
Construction & Building
Concrete volume, square footage, roofing pitch, lumber board feet, drywall, fence materials — 20+ building tools. We built these for the same reason most people need them: you're standing in a Home Depot parking lot trying to figure out how much material to buy before the store closes.

Unit Conversions
Temperature, weight, length, cooking measurements, data storage, speed, pressure — 30+ converters. Instant bidirectional conversion between imperial and metric, plus specialized tools for cooking, fuel economy, and screen resolution. These get more daily use than you'd think.

Everyday Life
Gas cost, tip splitting, recipe scaling, pet age, GPA, moving cost, grade calculations — 40+ everyday tools. These are the calculators you don't think you need until you're splitting a dinner bill four ways or trying to figure out what a road trip will actually cost in gas.

Getting the most from online calculators

Cross-reference with related tools. For big financial or health decisions, I'd recommend running two or three related calculators. Pair the mortgage calculator with the home affordability tool and the closing cost estimator — that's the combo that gives you the real picture of what buying a home costs.
Don't skip the content below the calculator. I write explanations of every formula, its limitations, and when you should talk to a professional instead of trusting a website. A BMI number without context can be genuinely misleading — the write-up helps you interpret what you're seeing.
Use the comparison tools for either/or decisions. The comparison pages are some of the most useful things on this site — Roth vs. Traditional IRA, renting vs. buying, EV vs. gas. They put both options side by side with real numbers so you can stop guessing.
Bookmark the tools you use often. Every calculator has a permanent URL. If you're tracking calories daily or logging time cards every week, bookmark that specific page for one-tap access on your phone. Way faster than searching for it each time.
Check the life event guides. Planning something big? I've put together guides that bundle every calculator you'll need for buying a home, starting a business, planning retirement, or buying a car into a single walkthrough. They're the pages I'm most proud of on this site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the calculators really free?
Every single one. No hidden tiers, no "pro" upgrade, no feature gates. I support the site through non-intrusive ads rather than charging you. You'll never be asked to create an account or enter payment info to use any calculator on this site.
Is my data private?
100%. Every calculation runs in your browser using JavaScript. Your salary, your weight, your medical numbers, your financial details — none of it is ever sent to my servers or any third party. I don't store it, I don't log it, I literally can't see it. Close the tab and it's gone.
How accurate are the results?
I use industry-standard formulas from authoritative sources — the IRS for tax brackets, CDC and WHO for health metrics, engineering handbooks for construction, peer-reviewed research for scientific formulas. Every calculator page cites its source, and the methodology page explains my validation process. That said, I'll be straight with you: online calculators are educational tools, not substitutes for professional advice from a CPA, doctor, or licensed engineer.
Do I need to create an account?
Nope. No login, no registration, no account system. Just open a calculator and start typing numbers. We built it that way on purpose — calculator tools should be instant and frictionless.
Can I use these on my phone?
Yep — every calculator is fully responsive across phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. The layout adapts to your screen automatically. You can also add nnng.com to your home screen on iOS or Android for app-like access without downloading anything from an app store.
How often are calculators updated?
Whenever the underlying data changes. New IRS tax brackets? I update the tax calculators. Fed rate shift? The mortgage tools get refreshed. Clinical guidelines revised? Health calcs get the new formulas. I also add new calculators regularly based on what people ask for. The What's New page tracks everything.
Can I embed a calculator on my website?
Sure. Many calculators have an embed option that generates an iframe snippet you can drop into your own site, blog, or article. Look for the embed button (the code icon) below the calculator. Free to use with attribution.
What makes nnng.com different from other calculator sites?
Honestly? Breadth, depth, and the fact that I don't collect your data. There are 500+ calculators here across nine categories — that's significantly more than most single-purpose calc sites. But what I think really sets this apart is the educational layer. Every tool has explanations, FAQs, and related-tool links so you can actually learn, not just get a number. Add in the comparison tools, life event guides, and blog articles, and you've got a resource, not just a utility.
