To calculate wall area: perimeter of room × ceiling height, minus window and door openings (approximately 20 sq ft per window, 20 sq ft per door). A 12×14 room with 8-foot ceilings and 2 windows/1 door needs roughly: (52 ft perimeter × 8 ft) − 60 sq ft = 356 sq ft of wall. At 375 sq ft/gallon coverage with 2 coats: 356 × 2 ÷ 375 = 1.9 gallons → buy 2 gallons.
