A small synthetic peptide that stimulates growth hormone release through the ghrelin receptor.
Ipamorelin is a five-amino-acid peptide that activates the growth hormone secretagogue (ghrelin) receptor, prompting the pituitary to release growth hormone. Early research described it as selective, with less effect on cortisol and prolactin than older secretagogues.
Ipamorelin is not an FDA-approved drug. Growth hormone secretagogues are prohibited in sport under WADA rules.
Status reflects public FDA actions and reporting as of October 8, 2026. An advisory committee vote is a recommendation, not an FDA decision, and inclusion on a compounding list is not FDA approval.
Ipamorelin reached human clinical trials as a treatment for postoperative ileus (slowed gut function after surgery) and was not developed further. There is no controlled human evidence for the body-composition, sleep or anti-aging uses it is marketed for.
nnng.com does not publish doses, cycles or protocols for peptides. For approved drugs, the dose comes from the FDA-approved prescribing information and your prescriber. For unapproved compounds there is no established human dose, and numbers that circulate online are usually extrapolated from animal studies or written by sellers. If a clinician has already prescribed a dose, our reconstitution calculator converts that prescribed amount into syringe units. It is arithmetic only and does not suggest a dose.
