Potent anti-inflammatory tripeptide — clinically studied for IBD and gut healing.
KPV is a naturally occurring tripeptide (Lysine-Proline-Valine) derived from the C-terminal of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It retains the potent anti-inflammatory activity of α-MSH without the pigmentation side effects. KPV has been studied extensively for inflammatory bowel disease, skin inflammation, and wound healing.
Mechanism: KPV exerts anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting NF-κB activation (the master regulator of inflammation), reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6), and activating anti-inflammatory pathways. It can enter cells directly and inhibit nuclear inflammatory signaling.
| Condition | Dose | Route | Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|
| IBD / gut inflammation | 500 mcg | SubQ or oral | 2× daily |
| Skin inflammation | 500 mcg | SubQ | 1–2× daily |
| General anti-inflammatory | 250–500 mcg | SubQ | 1× daily |
KPV is one of the few peptides with demonstrated oral effectiveness, making it accessible for gut conditions specifically. For systemic effects, SubQ administration provides more reliable bioavailability. Can be taken with or without food. Often combined with BPC-157 for comprehensive gut healing protocols.
